IFN - Management Board

FOREWORD

Dear partners,
Dear colleagues,

This year, we want to do more than just provide our readers with a review of the 2022 financial year; we would also like to give them an insight into IFN’s business model. We are also daring to look towards the future of sustainability reporting.

The 2022 financial year was a very successful one despite the many challenges we faced (such as the war in Ukraine, rising energy and material prices, increasing interest rates, etc.). IFN’s strategy of working the market with several different business models is proving its worth – especially in that challenging environment. The beginning of 2022 saw IFN acquire a majority stake in Neuffer GmbH (the European market leader in the online sales of windows and doors) and further strengthen its ‘online sales’ market segment.

IFN develops and manufactures products that improve buildings’ energy efficiency through insulation, shading, light control and smart ventilation. However, we want to do more than just offer products and services that help users to live sustainable lives simply by using them. According to the principle to life adopted by Eduard Klinger (Sr) – ‘Live and let live’ – we are also resolutely working towards a sustainable future for our family-run company and future generations. Sustainable entrepreneurship has been anchored in our corporate culture since the company was founded.

In this annual report, for the first time ever we are supplementing our qualitative reporting on sustainability activities within the Group with our first few steps relating to quantitative reporting. We are taking on the challenge of combining nine companies – some with totally different business models and process chains – under a single, standardised approach to sustainability reporting at Group level. This project presents both challenges and opportunities – arising from the individual business units’ close cooperation based on reliable facts and figures.

This year, too – in 2023 – we are convinced that IFN will continue to develop successfully despite the current economic slowdown in new construction. Buildings’ energy efficiency is still a central pillar of Europe’s climate strategy. With its products and services, IFN is significantly contributing to improving the energy efficiency of buildings in Europe.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, employees, suppliers and business partners for the excellent cooperation and the trust they place in us.
